Enabled by AI, a song which was languishing in a cupboard for 30 years is now released.While the debate on responsible usage of AI is still on, here is an example of what the rightful use of this technology can achieve.My journey on AI learning had taken a backseat because of work pressure, the release of this song has now given it much needed boost to restart that expedition.#ai #aitechnology #artificialintelligence

“You were only waiting for this moment to arise” - Continuing with music and AI, the Beatles are set to release a new song with John Lennon’s voice. Paul McCartney said he “had used new technology to ‘extricate’ John Lennon’s voice from an old demo and complete a decades-old song”. New technology - AI.I think this is a fascinating tale. While AI is being discussed from all angles, input versus output, copyright and privacy concerns too, there truly is no limit to what the technology can potentially be used for. From a privacy perspective, something to note, an individuals voice is considered personal information (putting aside John Lennon not being among the living, so this wouldn’t apply to him). While the technology is running rampant, understanding the data involved (re: input) will be key for privacy compliance. When discussing potential AI use cases with the various business and IT teams, some initial questions from a privacy perspective would include: what are the data sets that are being used to train the AI (where is the data coming from?), what is the purpose/objective of utilizing the AI (how will this help the business?), and do we have the right to use such data for the purpose identified (notice and consent). #ai #privacy #data #technology #music #compliance https://lnkd.in/ei87T4Mf

Paul McCartney says 'final Beatles record' out this year aided by AI - ABC News: Paul McCartney has said that he is set to release a "final Beatles record" with the help of artificial intelligence. McCartney did not reveal the name of the recorded song but stated that it was a demo that he and John Lennon had worked on. The song is most likely to be Now and Then, a 1978 Lennon composition. The AI technology is being used to separate Lennon's voice and a piano. Ethics in #ai has been a salient topic as GenAI models are being used for just about everything from text and images to video and voice. There is a clear line where consent, trust, security, and privacy intersect when it comes to AI. But every now and then (no pun, intended), people get it right with #genai and give us a gift, something music fans thought was impossible - a new #Beatles song.The new Beatles song "Now and Then" is one of the best examples of how GenAI was used in the right way - replicating John Lennon's voice from an old tape recording. Also, just an amazing story of how Peter Jackson helped bring Lennon's voice to life using AI to create individual layers/tracks from analog recordings while restoring 150 hours of unheard audio for the Get Back documentary. McCartney then used this same approach to separate out Lennon's vocals from an old cassette tape; the one limitation in the 90s that prevented Paul, George, and Ringo from working on the song. https://lnkd.in/eR_QADNZ
